Resident Advisor Program

Resident Advisors (RAs) are the front-line of the residence life team. Resident Advisors are students living in residence who take on leadership responsibilities and receive partial rent reimbursement for their role. The RAs role is to foster community development with the assistance of the Assistant Manager.

RAs work together as a team, as well as with the staff of Western Student Housing. Some of the duties of the RAs are:
· Handling emergency situations
· Organizing social and educational events
· Reinforcing community standards
· Assisting with interpersonal and community conflicts
· Referring residents to relevant services and support
· Representing students' views to residence staff

Any student is eligible to apply for an RA position, but preference is given to students who have previously lived in residence or who have held a similar position elsewhere.
